Here comes another Galaxy smartphone for the US market. The new Samsung Galaxy Axiom, a budget-friendly LTE smartphone, has just landed US Cellular for $79 with a 2-year contract or $399 for those who don’t want a contract. With similar design and specs, the Axiom is like the little brother of the Galaxy S III Mini.
Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, the LTE handset runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It gets a 4-inch WVGA 800×480 touchscreen display, a 5 Megapixel main camera with LED flash and a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera. Other than Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi, the Galaxy Axiom also includes NFC and DLNA connectivity. It comes with 4GB onboard memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB.
The Galaxy Axiom supports US Cellular’s 3G CDMA EVDO and LTE 4G networks. Its 2100mAh battery provides up to 7 hours of use and 145 days of standby.
