After landing Russia, Sharp’s flagship AQUOS Phone SH930W 5-inch 1080p touchscreen phone now arrives Hong Kong. The handset sports a 5-inch AQUOS touchscreen display with 1920×1080 resolution and protected by Gorilla Glass. Like HTC’s J Butterfly/DNA, the high definition screen provides a pixel density of 443ppi. The phone measures just 9.1mm thick and has a slim bezel of 4.6mm.
The phone’s Qualcomm S4 MSM8260A 1.5GHz dual-core processor is a bit dated that may not handle the 5-inch 1080p screen well (some benchmarks below), though it gets 2GB of RAM. Both of the 8 Megapixel main camera with 28mm wide angle lens, and the 2 Megapixel front-facing camera can do Full HD 1080p video recording. It supports Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/AGPS, WiFi connectivity and has a MHL-compatible micro USB port. There is 32GB onboard memory, but don’t expect a microSD/SDHC card slot.
The AQUOS Phone SH930W runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sharp’s Feel UX. It will be available in Hong Kong in December for HK$4488 (US$580). Also launched is the Sharp SH837W (HK$3188/US$412) powered by a MTK Cortex A9 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It sports a 4.7-inch 1280×720 touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel main camera, 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera, 4GB internal memory and 1900mAh battery.
